Season of Strawberries
Strawberry season is here! These ruby gems are sweet and delicate; perfect for a salad addition, a yogurt topper, or a sweet snack all on its own. I was at our local market when I spotted these beauties and bought 2 quarts of them (knowing that 1 quart would easily be snacked on in just a couple of days; and the other could be used for a sweet dessert for our Memorial Day BBQ!) There are endless ways to use strawberries this Summer (and all year round!) Here are a few of my favorite ways:
1. Sliced Strawberries and Goat Cheese over a Spinach Salad with Poppyseed Dressing
2. Warm Strawberry Sauce drizzled over Homemade Pancakes
3. Strawberry-Banana Smoothie (a classic!)
4. Oatmeal with Strawberries and Walnuts
5. Strawberries with Honey Drizzled over Vanilla Skyr
6. Strawberry Salsa over top Mahi Mahi
7. Spa Water: Strawberries, Cucumber and Mint steeped in filtered water for 2-3 hours
8. Strawberry Basil Lemonade
9. Dark Chocolate Covered Strawberries
10. All by themselves – a perfectly sweet snack!
